The physical therapist assistant (PTA) is a skilled technical health care worker who delivers physical therapy services under the supervision of the physical therapist (PT).  PTAs carry out patient treatments designed by the PT which include training patients in therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living with or without assistive devices; application of physical agents such as heat, cold, electricity and traction; gait training; assisting in performing tests, evaluations and treatment administered by the PT; observation and reporting of patients' response.

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is an intensive two-year Associate in Science degree program.  The program courses are taken sequentially and are offered during the daytime.
